Home Remedies for Bad breath are one of the most common methods, which I myself believe in. and it is a very common issue for all.

NOTE: Bacteria that live in our mouth, and eat the leftover food in the mouth, produce a smell, which causes bad breath.

Regular basic oral habits can suppress your bad breath to a great extent – brushing, flossing, and water rinsing are primary methods for removing bad breath.

Bad breath occurs due to bacteria, but there are some other reasons which enhance the mouth bacteria and lead to an unpleasant smell Including:

  • Alcohol, Tobacco related products
  • Bad oral hygiene
  • Dry mouth

  • Sulfur contains foods like onion, garlic, etc

  • You can also use clove oil, and just scroll around the mouth

Add 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar to a glass of water, gargle it at least for 15 seconds, and then spit it out.

NOTE: Because it contains acid so don’t forget to brush your teeth after gargling.

Oil Pulling

It is an ancient Indian technique for oral health, which contains a high amount of laurel acid which has anti-microbial properties.

  • Take a spoonful of coconut oil and keeps it in your mouth for 8 to 12 minutes.
  • Keep scrolling oil at every corner of the mouth.
  • After a minute split it out.

It also helps in detoxifying our bodies.

Documented evidence shows that oil pulling cures acne, arthritis, asthma, Insomnia, hypertension, and migraine headache.

Osmotic pressure gets created when we do oil pulling, and since oil has the property to attach dirt itself when we spit the oil out, it also flushed out.

Drink More Water

Yogurt

There is much research that said yogurt keeps our breath fresh and unpleasant odours away.

Research has found that eating 170 G (6 ounces) of yogurt a day reduces the level of hydrogen sulfide compounds (causes bad breath) in the mouth.

In another study where participants were fed 6 ounces of curd for 6 weeks.

At the end of the study, their sample was taken and it was found that 80% of volunteers had a reduction in hydrogen sulfide.

NOTE: Yogurt contains good bacteria called lactobacillus, which is great for gut health, so make sure to eat at least 2 times a week.

Lemon Water Rinse

Lemon has strong citrus acid which will excite the salivary glands and fight bad breath-causing bacteria.

  • Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to a glass of water
  • Gargle for around 15 seconds, then spit it out.
  • Do this 2 to 3 times a week, for the best result.

NOTE: Citrus acid in lemon help immediately in-breath issue. however, drinking regular lemon water can cause tooth decay and erosion.

Oranges peel, and lemon water help to promote saliva production, which sure does not let you dry your mouth, which causes Halitosis.

Daily Habits That Reduce Bad Breath To A Great Extent

These things are basic habits for oral health that we are taught from childhood. but there are some people who even do not Rinse after eating a meal.

These basic oral things are:

  • Regular Brushing – If you see a cavity in your tooth, then do it 2 times a day morning, and before bed.
  • Water Rinse – Salt water rinse is more effective than normal, it helps with sore throat issues, removes left food, and prevents plague build.
  • Tongue Scraping – Most of the bacteria live behind our tongue (which is seen in brownish, and white colour) so make sure to clean your tongue.
  • Flossing – Flossing prevents the building plague and tater in our teeth and reduces gum disease. use at least 1 time per day.
