Brushing your teeth regularly can prevent teeth from tooth issues, so here are similar good habits that are good for overall teeth health.

I have told a lot about oil pulling in both my previous articles, it is one of the most advisable home-remedy which you should try at least once a time.

Oil pulling is a panacea for dental health such as cavity-riddled teeth, swollen gums, bad breath, yellowed teeth, plague, tartar, and dental fillings.

  • Every morning with an empty stomach put a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth
  • then, swish it for around 10 to 15 minutes

During oil pulling you can do your other work, like cleaning, packing a bag, and cooking the food.

Rinsing Your Mouth After Meals

This is also important because I personally saw that many people don’t rinse their mouths after eating which is their biggest mistake to promote tooth decay, plague, and disease.

If you wanna increase your teeth’ life then clean (rinse) your mouth after eating or drinking something.

Do this for 10 to 15 seconds, and you really see, that how small particles are stuck in the tooth getting out.

Regular Brushing With Herbal Toothpaste

This is that habit by which our parents have been telling us since childhood to brush daily so that our teeth do not break.

It is good to brush but if you want to take care of your dental health to the next stage then you should definitely change your toothpaste to herbal toothpaste. But why?

  • Tin
  • Gold
  • Brass
  • Copper (copper has been used as an effective bacteria-resistance metal since ancient times.)

So I highly recommend you use these metal-made tongue cleaners, instead of plastic ones.

Our laziness and other things give us enjoyment and relaxation, but if these fun things are not brought under control over time, then they become our bad habits.

Here are those bad habits that whirred our dental health which include:

Grinding Your Teeth

Teeth grinding also called bruxism are a habit seen in peoples when they are under stress, and also occur during sleep.

These bad habits are hard to control when people have addicted to them, which can lead to jaw disorder, damage, or cracked teeth.

NOTE: If you are one of them, then immediately talk to the doctor, they will give you a mouth guard which protects your teeth during sleeping.

This is seen in kids during sleep, and in adults, if they could not control it, then therapy is required.

Smoking and Gutkha

Tobacco is not good for our over health which leads to multiple diseases such as lung disease, cancer, asthma, and mouth cancer.

It should be noted those who smoke are a more high chance to suffer from dental problems:

  • Plague, tartar in teeth
  • Bad breath
  • Loss of smell and taste
  • Gum disease
  • Early-age teeth fall out

Additionally, tobacco use enhances the risk of oral cancer, which is not that hard to control but ask those people who have successfully left it in their life.

If are one of them, and want to live a healthy lifestyle, then you should stop cigarettes and any other drugs which ruining your life.

Chewing Something Like Pencil

Chewing a pencil or something with a tooth is a habit in all our college and school life, and this habit can also cause teeth to crack and sensitivity.

Sugarless candy and eating food with proper chewing are better options than chewing hard things, which also improve your jaw, and strengthen the teeth.

NOTE: Chewing hard substances in the long term can cause teeth vulnerable and damage enamel.

Chew food is also the best exercise for the teeth, increasing blood circulation in the gums which makes the teeth stronger.

Ideally, chew one bite of food 32 times.

Consuming High Sugar Beverages and Food

Many people love food, especially processed food, and soft drinks which contain lots of sugar, salt, and carbohydrates.

But the more we like it, the more it is harmful to our overall health.

Sweetened beverages have high in sugar and artificial color and drinking can significantly contribute to tooth cavities.

Especially regular drinkers is a high chance of tooth cavities, causing early tooth erosion.

So if you drink such things make sure:

  • Use a straw that prevents the direct drink from getting on the teeth.
  • Rinse after eating anything

Other Bad Habits

  • Nail biting
  • Brushing too hard can vanish the upper layer of teeth, which leads to more visible yellow teeth
  • Using tooth as a tool
  • Chewing to Ice, which causes sensitivity
  • Playing sports with any mouthguard, increase the risk of tooth-breaking
