Hair fall is common in all of us but it happens more in the rainy season, but why? we will talk about it later.

Dr Manjot MD (Indian) dermatologist says hair fall increases by about 30% during the rainy season, and 30% higher chance of breakage and split ends in wet hair.

Also, Humidity reduces the natural oil of our scalp to a great extent, due to which the scalp becomes dry and the hair root becomes weak.

NOTE: Apart from this, there is another change in the hair during the rainy monsoon.

Our hair’s inner part has a covalent bond (which gives our hair strength), and salt bonds (which are strong in dry hair).

But as soon as the hair is wet the salt bond breaks.

For this reason, hair fall increases up to 30% during the rainy season.

Vegetables, whole grains, salmon fish, and low-dairy products are excellent nutrients food, that boosts healthy hair.

  • Avoid rain, if you have to go out, take an umbrella.
  • Eat Nutritional food or supplements to nourish your hair roots from within.
  • Keep your scalp clean during the monsoon season.
  • Protect hair cuticles (outer layer of hair) with serums, oils, shampoos, and conditioners these protect your hair.
  • For dandruff – dandruff is a fungal infection and hence increases in moist weather.
    • So make sure you control it, by using anti-dandruff shampoos on roots, and no hair oil on roots.
  • Oil massage – Oil massage works to a great extent to keep your hair healthy and shiny which also maintains your hair’s natural oil, and increases the blood flow on the scalp.
  • If you got wet in the rain then wash your hair with tap water as soon as possible when you come home and let them dry naturally.

The home remedy is my favourite part because it’s natural and works, so here are some home-remedy that you can try in the rainy season:

1. Green tea hair spray: Take one cup of water add 1 or 2 tea bags, then boil this well, leave it to cool for a while, and then put it on a spray bottle, and spray on hair.

This remedy keeps your pH level maintained, especially for those who have dry hair, which is unbalanced during the rainy season.

You can use green tea in your hair, after taking a bath, put green tea water in your head, wait for 15 to 20, then wash it with normal water.

2. Aloe vera: You can also use it as a hair spray or you can apply it directly on your hair.

3. Apple cider vinegar: This is not a cure for hair loss, but it is often linked to hair care because it is an ancient home remedy for making hair shiny, and dandruff-free.

You can use it as a hair spray, so make sure it is organic, don’t use any cheap, or random products.

4. Rosewater: It is very good for both skin, and hair health, and people whose hair becomes a little sticky, and oily, must use it.
