Weight and Height
Contents
Our height naturally Increases, but many people still try to find out how to increase their height with ideal weight.
But it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have any effort, much short height, or low weight people try their best to increase their weight or height.
Kids grow so fast in the early stage of their life, but there come times when his/her height stops.
Generally, kids’ weight or height depends on their diet or many things. which we discuss later.
And there are many people whose height stops growing after a time. but why?
Notice: The increased height is due to our bones because bones have growth plates in them called epiphysis.
As puberty progresses, our height also progresses.
At the end of puberty, our hormonal changes cause the growth plates to close, and the lengthening of bones to stop.
Weight simply depends on your lifestyle or eating behaviour.
Eating excessively increases weight, which is common, but in someone, if they consume less, their weight is still increasing because of genetics.
Generally, weight is measured according to our height, because it recommends that if a person’s weight is according to his height it means they are a healthy person.
What’s Affects Height?
Some people also said that bro If you want to increase your height do masturbation, it will increase your height. which is not true.
The effect of height is due to some common reasons which affect height, such as:
- Genetic
- environmental
- nutrition which plays an important role in height.
Genetic
Some people say that 90% of your height depends on your genes which is truly wrong.
Research in Australia on 3,375 twin children found that male height depends on 80% of genes, and females 75% of genes.
Another study was conducted in China with 385 families, and results showed that males and females height depends on 60% to 65% of their genes.
In India, approximately 65% of our height depends on our genes and the remaining 35% depends on nutrition and the environment.
Environment
Our environment also affects our height meaning everyday life, surroundings, and conditions in which a person operates.
Long-term stress can increase cortisol (a stress hormone) and negatively affect our large or small intestine, and T level due to which a disease starts to form in our stomach.
IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) due to this our intestine is unable to absorb nutrients and this thing is the reason for the lack of nutrients.
Highly polluted areas also affect height, weight, and even your overall health.
Nutrition
We know how essential it is to take fats or carbohydrates, but equally vital is a protein that plays a great role in increasing height.
Protein is made up of amino acids, which have 2 amino acids (L-arginine, and L-ornithine) which directly affect the pituitary gland in our brain.
Due to this, the pituitary gland starts releasing more HGH.
HGH (Human Growth Hormone) is responsible for increased height.
Apart from this, many micronutrients also help in increasing height such as vitamin D3 helps the body to absorb calcium.
Zinc and Iron also help in boosting the metabolic function of the body, due to which the growth is more rapid.

How to Calculate body weight
Body mass index is the most popular ratio to figure out your ideal body weight and many healthcare experts use it regularly.
There are 3 methods, by which doctors calculate your weight according to height are:
1. Formula
Ideal weight = Height in Inches x 2.54, whatever result will come, males will do 100 (subtract) – of it. and females will do 105 of them.
For example: Height 5’5″ft (convert in inches) 1 feet = 12 inches formula
Inches = 5×12+5 = 65 inches
65 x 2.54 = 165.1
For Males = 165.1 – 100 = 65.1 kg result
For Females = 165.1 – 105 = 60.1 kg result
2. Body Mass Index
This does not calculate your ideal weight, rather, it judges your current weight and tells you, whether your weight is in the normal BMI category or not.
BMI formula = Weight in kg/(Height in m)2
65/165×165 = 23.89 result
According to the BMI index table, this result comes in a normal category you can check yourself below table.
BMI | BMI Range status |
Below 18.5 | Underweight |
18.5 – 24.9 | Normal weight |
25.0 – 29.9 | Pre-obesity |
30.0 -34.9 | Obesity class I |
35.0-39.9 | Obesity class II |
Above 40 | Obesity class III |
3. Waist To Hip ratio
This formula is for your metabolic health which tests your hip size and waist size and tells you about your health.
Note: For measurement, You can take your waist size just above your belly button, and hip size on top of your hip.
Formula = Waist (inches)/Hip sizes (inches)
For example = 35/40 = 0.875 result
For females, 0.8 is cut off, if they are above 0.8, In our case, they are above, so they should lose weight, otherwise, they may be at risk of metabolic syndrome.
For males, 0.9 is cut off, if they are above 0.9, so they also should lose weight, otherwise, they also may be at risk of metabolic issues.
Down Line
Our height and weight are affected by our genetic, environmental, and nutrition which play an important role in height.
Kids grow so fast in the early stage of their life, but there come times when/her height stops.
Vitamin D3 helps the body to absorb calcium and calcium helps in increasing the strength and size of bones.
