  • Hepatitis: It is a viral disease, caused by inflammation in the liver, called hepatitis, another reason for these diseases is autoimmune, and alcohol.
  • Diphtheria: This affects the respiratory tract, which makes it hard to breathe and swallow. It can spread from person to person through droplets.
  • Whooping cough: It is caused by a bacterial infection also known as pertussis. Babies and weak immunity person is more struggle to fight this infection.
  • Polio: It is a viral infection, which affects the central nervous system. children under 5 age are more prone to risk it, and also spreads from person to person.
  • Tetanus: This causes contraction of the muscles, especially in the muscles of the jaw and neck, also known as lockjaw, caused by “Clostridium tetani” bacteria.
  • HIB diseases: Hib is caused by bacteria which can lead to potentially deadly brain infections in young children.

Yes, 6 in 1 vaccine is quite safe.

According to the oxford university, it does not contain any live bacteria or viruses, and cannot cause any of the diseases it protects against.

The World health organization (WHO) and most countries around the world recommend vaccination against these diseases.

Side effects

It has some side effects, which mainly resolve with time, the common side effects are:

  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Pain in injection area, can also swelling, redness, etc
  • Irritability
  • Diarrhea
  • Being sick

However, if you see the baby is crying too much and having a seizure, then consult the doctor, but it is a rarely seen side effect.

Consult the doctor, before taking the vaccine, because it may interfere with fever, cold, cough, and illness that is already present in toddlers.

NOTE: Hexaxim Vaccine should be taken only under the care of the doctor.

Side effect of single vaccinations compared to combination vaccinations?

Side effects of a 6 in 1 or combination vaccine are usually similar to side effects from vaccines alone and are usually mild.

Where the shot was given with the combination vaccination, there may be a slight increase in pain or swelling.

But if your child gets different injections, he/she may have pain or swelling in two or three places instead of one.

If your child has moderate or severe side effects from a vaccine, talk to your family or child’s doctor.
