What is a kidney stone?

A kidney stone is a hard form of crystal that can form in the kidney, uterus, bladder, or urethra. this hard mass is made up of minerals, and salt.

It is also known as renal calculi, urolithiasis, or nephrolithiasis, which from inside the body, and extremely painful, and difficult to get out.

When urine contains high levels of calcium, sodium, potassium, oxalate, uric acid, and phosphate it becomes too acidic or basic, which leads to kidney stones over time.

This crystal-type stone will gradually grow over a few weeks, months, or even a year, forming a detectable stone.

Reasons for Kidney Stone

Kidney stones can be formed due to changes in the abnormal balance of water, salt, and minerals found in urine.

But here are some common causes of kidney stones:

Lack of Water

Drinking too little water is also a common cause of kidney stones, also diet plays a significant role such as eating animal protein, and fast food.

Chocolate or dark green vegetables which are high-oxalate foods can also increase the risk of kidney stones in some people.

Urine Contrasted

This means – the number of waste products in the urine is more while the water content is less.

For example – if the pipe is carrying a lot of water it also easily carries waste products with it.

But if there is less water in the pipe then the same waste material causes blockage. the same situation applies in the form of kidney stones.

Urine contains lots of acids or calcium

High levels of uric acid or calcium in urine and some crystal-forming substances can lead to a form of kidney stone.

Certain Medicine

Certain medications can increase the danger of kidney stones such as High BP, urinary parcel infections, and certain kidney problems, like kidney disease.

However proper treatment, eating a well-balanced diet, and controlling can prevent the risk of stone formation.

Symptoms of Stone Stone

Signs of kidney stones may not occur until the stone starts to move down the uterus. the serious torment is called renal colic.

When the stone moves through the uterus tract, you may see:

  • Pain in the side of the abdomen or waist, which is the most common sign of kidney stone.
  • Difficulty in urine
  • Blood in urine, due to stone sharp edges
  • Bad smell urine
  • Cloudy, or foam of urine
  • Vomitting, and nausea

In the case of a small kidney stone, it passes without causing, just drink lots of water, which increases the push of the stone.

Note: Regular yellow or dark yellow urine can increase the risk of kidney stones because yellow urine means – lack of water.

Types of kidney Stones

Not all types of kidney stones are made of the same types of crystal.

By knowing about the type of kidney stone, you can guess the hint reason for its occurrence. they include:

Calcium kidney stone

About 70% of the people with kidney stones have this calcium kidney stone and calcium alone is not responsible for kidney stones.

Understand it like this – Calcium loves oxalate and phosphate, if calcium is combined with oxalate, then it converts into calcium oxalate.

And if calcium is combined with phosphate, then it converts into calcium phosphate.

Oxalate is a compound that is found in some foods, it is also produced as a waste product by the body, and too much oxalate causes ks.

You should avoid foods that are high in oxalates including:

  • Peanuts
  • Chocolate
  • spinach
  • potato chips

Uric acid

This type of kidney stone is found in those people whose protein intake is much higher and those with diabetes or metabolic syndrome.

Approximately 5% of kidney stones people have this kidney stone. (5/100)

Uric acid stone develops when urine is too acidic. a diet rich in purines can increase pee’s acidic level.

Cystine stone

Cystine stone is an amino acid stone, and this stone is rare, cystine is an acid that occurs naturally in the body – leaks from the kidney into the urine.

This kidney stone occurs in 1 to 3% of 100 people.

Infectious Stone

kidney infection is caused by certain bacteria, which break down the chemicals and then sticks to them which causes kidney stones.

About 15 to 20% of people with kidney stones have this infection kidney stone.

These stones can grow quickly and become quite large.

Diagnoses of kidney Stone

A variety of tests can be required to diagnose kidney stone include:

  • X-rays
  • CT scan which is pretty good to diagnose most parts.
  • Ultrasound
  • Urinalysis to check for crystals, bacteria, and food
  • Blood test
  • MRI scan, which is not a great test for kidney stones can also sometimes inflammation, or swelling.

Treatment of Kidney Stone

Treatment depends on your stone size or type.

If your stone is less than 5 to 6mm then it easily passes through the urine and no treatment is required.

If it is large it can be quite painful. In this case, the doctor recommends medical treatment.

But there are some home remedies which are quite beneficial to remove a kidney stone.

Home-Remedy

1. kalanchoe pinnate: also known as (पथरचटा) in India, is a bryophyte plant.

Just take 2 to 3 leaves of these plants and chow them properly and then drink enough water. Do it twice a day.

because It contains a special chemical that binds with the crystal nd starts to break them so that they can easily pass through your urine.

It also stops the formation of further crystals and kidney stones.

2. Uro cure: It is an ayurvedic medicine, it is a specific formula for kidney and urinary bladder stones.

Because it contains lots of natural substances such as giloy, Kalami sore, gokuru, etc.

Note: These are specific for the removal of kidney stones, because lots of people use them, and they see benefits from them.

How to use it

Take a non-metallic water glass, then add 2 tbsp or 2 caps of Uro cure. and then drink it, do this twice a day after a meal.

Just take this 2 to 3 weeks or just a month you are going to get rid of your kidney stone.

Medical Treatment

1. Medicine: some medicine such as alpha-blockers is a special type of medicine that relaxes the urinary tract so that the stuck stone can easily pass through the water.

2. Shock wave therapy: This is most common for treating kidney stones also known as (ESWL) extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.

In this, a high-shock wave is sent, which strikes the kidney stone and breaks it into small pieces, so that the stone can easily pass through the urinary tract.

3. Ureteroscopy: In this, a doctor uses a long thin tube pipe, which passes through the urinary tract to the location of the stone.

Then the doctor breaks the stone into small pieces with some tools.

After that, the stones are in small pieces, which are enough to pass through the urine.

Note: If the stone is large enough then surgery is the only option to remove the stone.

Prevent Kidney Stone

If you want to avoid the painful pain of kidney stones then you have to make some changes in your life. you just have to follow these lifestyles:

  • Drink lots of water which is one primary factor that people have kidney stones because of lack of water for a long time.
  • At least 1 glass of lemon juice in the whole day because it contains citrates which bind with the oxalate and stop the formation of ks.
  • Reduce a large amount of oxalate-containing food, such as spinach, soybean, almonds, beans, tea, soda, sweet potatoes, tofu, coffee, berrIes, etc.
  • Reduce the excessive amount of animal meat because it contains uric acid which enhances the chance of stone.

How Big, or Small is Enough?

The biggest kidney stone on record weighed more than a kilogram and was 17 cm in diameter.

And how small is enough to pass through easily?

If it is less than 1/5 inch (5mm), it passes without any discomfort, but if the stone is above 5 to 8 mm, it is less likely to pass by itself.

If the stone is too large to pass on its own, then several treatments are required.

Which Food can Increase the Risk of kidney Stones?

  • Red meat, port: Red meat increasing uric acid, and calcium amounts, which raise the risk of stones formation.
  • Fast food, pickles: These are very salty food, if you eat more fast food, which contain sodium, that can also increase the risk of stones.
  • High-oxalate food: such as tomato, soybean, and green vegetables, like kale, broccoli, etc, that are high in oxalate, which also increases the risk of stone.
